How Can UV Sterilization Help Your Business?

Disinfection/Microbial Control

UV light rays penetrate the cell wall of the microorganism and permanently alter the DNA structure. The microorganism is "inactivated" and thus becomes non-viable and unable to reproduce. It eventually dies. This application utilizes 254 nm lamp.

Ozone Destruction

UV is very effective at destroying ozone. The ozone (O3) molecule absorbs the UV energy and quickly dissipates, breaking down into O2 molecules. Primary destruction is at 254 nm. Sometimes a 185 nm system is used to enhance TOC reduction and ozone destruction.

TOC Reduction

UV light in a 185 nm wavelength promotes the formation of free radicals, leading to the oxidation of organics into CO2 and H2O. This is more powerful than the 254 nm used in disinfection applications. TOC systems have the flexibility to serve indoor or outdoor installations and are also available in modular skid designs. UV systems are a safe and effective alternative for TOC destruction. Low maintenance costs and the minimal byproducts from non-toxic UV light are two great reasons for you to use a UV system.

Chlorine/Chloramine Destruction

Chemical addition involves the introduction of an added substance and is therefore undesirable. As an alternative to the use of chemicals and activated carbon beds, UV technology can be utilized to destroy chlorine/chloramine, thereby eliminating the need for chemical handling and bacteria breeding.
